I will try to outline what Reavers is about, how we work and address some possible issues that may arise. PM me if you have any questions, concerns or unclarities that are not covered here but should be. Ok let's get started...
What is the purpose of Reavers?
Reavers was formed for two reasons: 1. mutual support in combat and therefore improved ability to take on odds otherwise overwhelming aswell as pilot activity and company where small corporations otherwise lack them and 2. increased capacity to declare and sustain wars against alliances by sharing war fees and thereby also combating lack of targets that so frequently plagues the trade of empire warring.
Who are and who can become Reavers?
While we do not have any chalk drawn absolute requirements, we have some important frames that member corporations must meet. They must be:
• Based in empire and willing to pursue wars around it • Fully dedicated to PvP • Experienced in combat and on average over a year old, preferably more • Mature as in mostly over 18 years old aswell as known to smacktalk very little • Laid back, have a good attitude of having fun, doing things in style and striving to be good
We do not want to become big. At the moment we envision an optimal size to be 3-5 corporations with an average of 30-50 members each.
What kind of hierarchy does Reavers have?
Reavers is more of an organised collaboration of independent corporations than a political alliance. The alliance will not interfere with what happens within corporations. Member corporations' primary responsibility is to pay their share of the war fees (divided equally) and they are expected to participate in those wars to some extent. This does not mean, however, that the whole alliance needs to be at one place at all times. Corporations are free to pursue wars in different parts of empire, do some piracy or 0.0 skirmishes and whatever they like.
Decisions on war declarations will be made by democratic polls available to all members, based on intel gathered and presented. Ties, special circumstances and other decisions are made by CEO's (or if a corp is run by other means, the CEO will represent the corp's decision). Drastic measures such as kicking a member corporation out (if they have say smacktalked continuously or not participated in any wars for months etc.) and other bigger decisions will be decided by CEO votes (in case of a tie I reserve veto). Accepting new member corporations will be decided this way aswell after the initial composition with the corps negotiated with is clear.
All corps will also handle their own economies as they see fit. War fees and possible other joint expenses are the only shared resources. One corp should not bicker to another about their losses; it's their business be they communal or independent.
What about diplomacy, ROE and politics?
Reavers have no positive standings. The only exceptions are our own alts and possible alt corps and if the alliance accepts a mercenary contract that extends to 0.0. Otherwise it's always NBSI.
Similarly we have no territorial ambitions. We will not claim any space. If we feel like it, we can go kick some 0.0 corps or alliances in the butt, though, but only for the hell of it. Access to 0.0 is only limited by our ability to enforce it. If a corp needs to make some money, for example, they may go purge a constellation and rat there for a week or two (as long as they don't move there permanently).
Reavers are allowed to pillage, plunder, suicide gank, pirate, anti-pirate and pretty much do anything. You are not allowed to exploit blatant metagame tactics such as login and logoff traps or dishonour 1v1s or ransoms or scam. These are the only exceptions. You may use spies to infiltrate targets, however.
You may also post on the forums freely aswell as talk in local. We urge you to be witty and intelligent and always think twice before pressing enter. Actions are only considered when someone breaks the spirit continously. If you have a problem with another member of the alliance, you should take it up with your leadership who can take it to the other corp's leadership. As said, however, the alliance will not forcefully interfere with internal matters. |
